The aim of UPSIDE is to foster the convergence of the
digital research and innovation agendas of leading ICT clusters in the partner
regions and their home city administrations, which have a strong policy
dedication to digital services. The project aims at promoting the development
of cooperation frameworks and synergy linkages between research, innovation
activities within the companies as well as open innovation, urban development
policies and open user-driven innovation ecosystems. A particular emphasis is
on building testbeds for scalable smart city solutions provided by innovative
SMEs, and facilitate the internationalisation of such solutions.
Building on the priorities of the
cities involved in the project and the estimated market potential, the UPSIDE
partners will focus on the following fields of action:
•health, including ambient assisted living,
•new solutions for public transport (intelligent transport systems) / intelligent mobility,
•public services (e- and m-Government), and
•energy (energy autarkic cities)
The envisioned activities will be completed in 2016; UPSIDE´s budget amounts to 2.6 MEUR. Additional information: www.upside-project.eu/.
